Orlando Awards

CAROLINE N. MOSCRIP ACHIEVEMENT AWARD (silver platter)

The Caroline N. Moscrip Achievement Award was named in honor of Ms. Caroline N. Moscrip, a Charter Member of the Orlando Chapter when it was formed on April 7, 1945 as the "Ivanhoe Chapter of the National Secretaries Association", or NSA.  She was an active member of the chapter from 1945 until her death on June 29, 1993 at the age of 94.

Caroline served as President of the Orlando Chapter for the 1955-1956 term.  She also served as the first-ever Secretary of the Florida Division, in 1953.

Caroline was outspoken, dedicated to the goals and objectives of the association, and encouraged member participation on the chapter, division, district, and international levels.

This Award was created in her honor to encourage member participation at all levels and in a variety of chapter activities.

THE MILDRED LAVIN NEW MEMBER AWARD (certificate)

The Mildred Lavin New Member Award was initiated by Mrs. Mildred Lavin, an active member of Orlando Chapter IAAP from December 1951 until her death on August 7, 2000.

Mildred served as President of the Orlando Chapter for the 1953-1954 term and also the 1954-1955 term, when the organization was known as National Secretaries Association, or NSA. In her working life, she was a secretary for Florida Power and Gas Company, for Mayor Bob Carr, for the President of Rollins College, and for the Orange County Tag Agency.

Mildred believed strongly in the concept of new IAAP members being very involved in their IAAP Chapter from the beginning. She knew that early involvement was an excellent building block for the individual member and also for the needs of the chapter.

PAMELA J. DAVIS CPS COMMUNITY SERVICE SPIRIT AWARD  (plaque)

The Pamela J. Davis CPS Community Service Spirit Award is named for Pamela J. Davis CPS, an active member of Orlando Chapter IAAP from May 1989 until her death on December 17, 1997.

An ad hoc committee created this award after the untimely passing of this young member of our chapter.  She was an employee of SunTrust Banks.  Pam was very generous in remembering our chapter with a financial contribution by naming the Orlando Chapter in her will.  She was a great supporter of the chapter, only being prevented from participating as much as she wanted to by her illness.

This award is based on a member's participation in Community Service activities that are sponsored by the chapter, and also participation in service to our community in general.

Look here for the Orlando Awards form to check the list of activities you need to complete to qualify for the award.
